Lady Gaga on The Ellen Degeneres Show 9/13 (w/the Meat Dress!) [VIDEO]

youtube link
GaGa defends her meat dress (which was frowned upon by PETA and other animal rights activists) on a special edition of The Ellen Show. Says GaGa, "It is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth. ... However, it has many interpretations, but for me this evening ... If we don't stand up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And I am not a piece of meat."

VIDEO: Lady GaGa Gets Political at Monster Ball in Phoenix, Addresses Arizona's Immigration Bill

youtube link
Lady GaGa got political last night in Phoenix. She says that people tried to get her to boycott Arizona but she chose to go out and tell her fans to be active in peaceably protesting the injustice that SB1070 could present. "If it wasn't for you, this country wouldn't have shit." It's a little (a lot) more complicated than that but its always good to encourage dialogue.

NEWS: Grammys Change Rules for 'Best New Artist' Category; Drake Has Chance to Win Big Next Year
Rolling Stone:Last year, fine print in the Grammy rulebook prevented Lady Gaga from being nominated for Best New Artist — an award she likely would have won — and the show's producers promised to look into what fans perceived as a monster snub. "There will be some changes so that particular scenario won't repeat itself," Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said in December 2009. Now the Grammy committee has announced an amendment to its official criteria for the category.
According to the rule change, an artist will be eligible for Best New Artist even if they are nominated for one of their own singles (and don't win) or feature on another artist's nominated compilation or album before releasing their own full album. Last year, Lady Gaga was ineligible for the category at the 52nd Grammy Awards because her single "Just Dance" was nominated for Best Dance Song at the 51st Grammys. With Gaga out of the competition, the award went to the Zac Brown Band.
The most immediate beneficiary of the rule change is Drake. The up-and-coming MC was nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance for "Best I Ever Had" at the 2010 ceremony. However, since he lost in both categories, and his debut album Thank Me Later was just released last month, the Toronto rapper seems like a lock to be nominated in the Best New Artist category in 2011.

VIDEO: Lady GaGa performs Live on The Today Show - Draws Record Crowd of 20,000 [FULL]
The Little Monsters began camping out for Lady Gaga’s concert at New York’s Rockefeller Plaza for the Today Show concert series as early as yesterday morning. By this morning, there were thousands of them waiting for their Mother Monster — around 20,000 if estimates are correct.Besides making sure many of the fans camping out had water to drink and pizza to eat while they waited overnight, Gaga made sure her fans saw a show they’d never forget when she hit the stage.
Gaga went all out for her mini-concert. She started out on a fog-filled stage doing a jazzy cover of “Someone To Watch Over Me” before launching into her hit “Bad Romance.” Later, she came back on piano for “You and I,” a new song from her upcoming third album, then changed into a black suit for “Alejandro.”
As rain began to drench the plaza, Gaga kept things going with a wet-and-wild performance of “Teeth,” in which she kind-of struck out at critics of her very symbolic “Alejandro” video, saying, “Some people say I’m not a religious woman, so come on New York. Let’s go to church!”
