Al Jazeera:
Registration has closed for Haiti's upcoming presidential election. Among those in the running for the country's top job is Haitian-born hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean.

Jean has been criticised for his decision to run for president of Haiti by many, including Hollywood Actor Sean Penn, who's done relief work in Haiti. Now Jean's former Fugees bandmate, Pras Michel, has also weighed in.

He told Al Jazeera he will not back Jean because he lacks a definitive plan to govern the island nation.

VIDEO: Lady GaGa Gets Political at Monster Ball in Phoenix, Addresses Arizona's Immigration Bill

youtube link
Lady GaGa got political last night in Phoenix. She says that people tried to get her to boycott Arizona but she chose to go out and tell her fans to be active in peaceably protesting the injustice that SB1070 could present. "If it wasn't for you, this country wouldn't have shit." It's a little (a lot) more complicated than that but its always good to encourage dialogue.

youtube link
Apparently this weekend was Chris' first time performing in Jamaica. Here's some close-up footage [with iffy audio] of Chris doing his thing on stage at Montego Bay's 2010 Sumfest. If you can tell, he is performing "Help Me" & "Throwed" from his Exclusive album. Hopefully we get better quality video later but looks like he rocked the stage (with his dance moves at least). Usher will be performing tonight.

Fest delves into politics of hip-hop (he's running for city council) and why he feels there is too much attention on the Mason society. He touches on the criticism he's received from saying anti-gay statements, why he's not homophobic, and his desire for hip-hop to be more masculine.
