Pras Talks Fugees, 2Pac, Suge Knight & more w/ChampsYo [AUDIO]

This is some of the best interview material I've heard n a while.. Even though the guys asking the questions are constantly interrupting their guest and pretty much bite off Howard Stern, Pras revealed some interesting stories about his career and other artists that we haven't ever heard before.. It's a pretty long stream but I recommend listening if you have the time..

Lauryn Hill Talks About Rock the Bells and Updating Her Classics

MTV got the special honor of speaking to Ms. Hill aftr her set at NYC's Rock The Bells. I'm happy to hear her explain herself and these videos give a better understanding of where her head is at right now. I understand that she might get bored with her classics (though she has hardly performed them), I still would have liked to sing along during the show. At the same time, it was an honor to just be there and hear her randomly belt out some melodies during her mostly hardcore set (she says "Jazz-like," but it felt a little more like grunge). Anyway, listen to what she had to say about the show and her performances
Lauryn Hill calls Rock the Bells "something special," and says she had to be part of the lineup.

"There's been such a long period of time where I haven't been able to communicate where my mind is, where my consciousness is, where my ideas are," she told MTV News on Saturday. "I have to upgrade them a bit so that they're still exciting and fresh and they're new. There's something almost jazz-like the way I approach performances. I'm not sure if the audience really understands. We need, or at least I need, a certain amount of spontaneity, a certain amount of improvisation every show. I might have gotten spoiled from the Fugee days. We used to improvise a lot. It kept it so fresh and exciting. I need that. I need that improvisational, almost jazz-like improvisational dynamic when I'm onstage. It keeps it so exciting. It's that unknown, that literal X factor that makes every show something different — something unique and something I want to continue to do."

Also, Lauryn spoke with Toure for Fuse Tv which will air Wednesday, September 1 at 11 pm ET on Fuse's weekly "Hip Hop Shop."

youtube link
Al Jazeera:
Registration has closed for Haiti's upcoming presidential election. Among those in the running for the country's top job is Haitian-born hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean.

Jean has been criticised for his decision to run for president of Haiti by many, including Hollywood Actor Sean Penn, who's done relief work in Haiti. Now Jean's former Fugees bandmate, Pras Michel, has also weighed in.

He told Al Jazeera he will not back Jean because he lacks a definitive plan to govern the island nation.

NEWS: Lauryn Hill to Perform Complete "Miseducation" Album @ Rock The Bells 2010 x Lil' Kim & Foxy Solo Shows in NYC this Summer

Firstly, let me start off with the huge, out-of-nowhere news provided by the good folks at URB Magazine:
The official press conference isn’t until, but we’re ready to call this one like FOX News. Hip-hop enigma Lauryn Hill will be headlining this year’s Rock The Bells tour. The ex-Fugees songstress will be performing her classic solo album, The Miseduction of Lauryn Hill, as part of a complete album format that has become an increasingly popular way for legendary acts to draw attention to current tours. Also rumored to be performing a full-length at RTB2010 is A Tribe Called Quest. Perhaps they’ll join Ms. Hill in a rendition of Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly,” The Fugees’ most infamous hit, which sampled ATCQ’s “Bonita Applebum.”
URB spoke to representative of Rock The Bells who would not confirm…or deny the booking. The official Rock the Bells press conference takes place tonight at The Key Club in West Hollywood.
Info on 2010 RTB dates, venues and full line-up will be available later!
