Ladies' Shoes: Versace S/S 2010 Sandals

I have noticed, especially after the unfortunate death of fashion king, Alexander McQueen, that some ladies' shoes have been moving more into the arena of artwork.  The mixture of materials, colors, patterns and in some cases, engineering, have chnged the way big fashion houses have looked at shoe design and innovation.
It seems the approach has been positively received by celebs gracing the catwalk in all types of creative shoes. From sandals to platforms to pumps, designers are reaching deep into their creative minds to invent truly unique and eye-popping footwear.  Check out these Versace platforms, which are part of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection inspired by Alice In Wonderland.  An interesting touch is the floating space between the bottom of the shoe and the sole, making a very interesting profile.
I spotted these after seeing pics of Ciara wearing the pair last night at Maxim's Hot 100 Party.  See a few pics of her in the shoe after the jump. -L

Ladies' Fashion- Beyonce's Dereon Clothing Line to Become a Bit More Sasha Fierce

Beyonce’s uber-edgy alter ego Sasha Fierce is about to get into more than just music; she’s also getting her own clothing line.

Joining Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles’s junior line, Dereon, the Sasha Fierce line will debut just in time for back to school shopping, according to WWD.

Sasha’s fierce frocks — which are inspired by Beyonce’s stage costumes from her successful I Am… world tour — will include pieces heavy on bold accessories that mix and match metals with an emphasis on black and faux leather. But it won’t be all about clothing. The line will expand to shoes, handbags, and oversized sunglasses.

"The line really exudes a different side of my personality, which I am grateful that I can express," Beyoncé said, adding that the line is for "the confident, sensual and daring side of a woman ... and there is a little Sasha Fierce in every girl!"

You can purchase Sasha Fierce items in Macy’s, Dillard’s, and specialty stores Jimmy Jazz and Against All Odds.

Ladies' Fashion: Louis Vuitton Resort 2010

Marc Jacobs brought his usual energetic and eclectic style to Louis Vuitton for this resort season. Mixed prints, mixed shapes, and mixed materials made for a collection that is a little bit all over the place, but also young and fun. Plus, when Marc shows us something a little different, it is usually safe to trust his instincts.

Ladies' Fashion: Gucci Resort 2010

Holy shit they rolled out the damn carpet on this collection! Who's gonna top this? For resort at that...
"If the Gucci girl was a creature of the night on the Fall runway, she's ready to soak up the sun for Resort. A teeny-weeny, scuba-inspired dress would be perfect for Ibiza, just as tomboyish seersucker pants paired with a chambray shirt and a jacket—be it a traditional blazer, oversize washed leather topper, or neat raincoat—are just right for the Amalfi coast. Said Italian playground was designer Frida Giannini's touchstone, but a mosaic print and embroidery were the most direct references to her stated inspiration. That's as it should be; there's no need to belabor the point. These are uncomplicated, go-anywhere clothes for a woman who likes to travel in style."- Style.com .. see the whole collection here

Ladies Fashion: Phillip Lim Resort 2010

"The rock chick of Phillip Lim's Fall collection has landed on the beach. "She's a pirate," says the designer, pointing out the patchwork denim, the antique lace, and the "sun-bleached" florals and lamés. Still, this collection was as keyed into what hip urbanites want to wear as ever. Lim's super-popular jumpsuit made a reappearance; he showed several smart suits, this season with double-breasted jackets and rolled-hem shorts; and his trenches came every which way, including in sheer polka dots, faded floral sequins, and a lizard-stamped linen. (The latter looked disarmingly like the real thing, but was practically weightless—and will retail for less than $600.) On the news front, Lim has incorporated lingerie elements into everything from sheer blouses with built-in bra tops to a fluttery chiffon evening dress suspended from a sequined bralette. " via style.com
I've browsed through the resort collections of designers such as Prada, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, and Miu Miu to name a few and nothing has really stood out (besides Chanel, of course).. Phillip Lim introduced an interesting theme that works in real life, not just on the runways.. Check the whole collection here
