New York based artist Scott Campbell was recruited by Marc Jacobs (whom he tattoos) for the Louis Vuitton SS11 menswear presentation in Paris. Not only did Campbell hit runway models with LV logo neck tats, he also customized a number of leather bags. The bags feature Campbell’s intricate artwork on several designs, including solid leather offerings and the label’s iconic damier print silhouette. As part of their Fall/Winter 2009 Collection, Louis Vuitton has released the new Sunlight Sneaker. The low top sneaker comes in two colorways and features a mixed patchwork upper. Inspired by the brilliant inventions of Jean-Eugene Robert-Houdin in the 19th century, the Tambour Mystérieuse embodies peerless watchmaking genius: with the finesse of a conjurer, this Louis Vuitton montre à complication [[trans: complicated watch]] somehow completely conceals its own mechanism. The hands hover on an astounding system of transparent sapphire discs; no trace of the watchworks is detectable by the eye. Prowess beyond compare, causing time to float as if by some other-worldly bewitchment.
This is a first in the luggage master’s history: a timepiece entirely created, developed, and assembled in the Louis Vuitton watch-making workshops in Switzerland. Perpetuating the prestigious institution of traditional craftsmanship, every element of the calibre “LV115” is rigorously handmade, a technical masterpiece of 115 components. The unprecedented power reserve, too, stands as testament to pure watchcraft virtuosity: 8 days - 8 hours. A tip of the hat to this lucky number, this timeless talisman. Three models have materialized: the first, a resolutely technical creation of clean, minimal lines; the second is classic, sophisticated, accented in brown or gray; the third, a supremely feminine model radiating an aura of jeweled artistry. - Louis Vuitton Press Release

Now that Yeezy mania is over, it’s officially time for LV-eezy mania to start. We just got official word that Mr. West’s set of Louis Vuitton sneakers are “estimated” to drop tomorrow, July 1, at LV stores around the globe. The Dons, Jaspers, and Mr. Hudson, all named after people belonging to Kanye’s inner circle, will hit the swanky shelves of LV retailers, after the hard release date was kept quiet.-Cofamplex
Having been the center of a strong collaborative year in 2009, Louis Vuitton on the backs of Marc Jacobs and men’s wear studio director Paul Helbers pull out all the stops to offer a fun and innovative collection for the spring which features both style and function. Inspired by what is seemingly a popular theme, New York’s world of messengers lends its aesthetic through various bright offerings. Various bags in different shapes and sizes are also seen. All in all, it looks as though LV will carry on with its momentum as of late.
