Ladies' Shoes: Versace S/S 2010 Sandals

I have noticed, especially after the unfortunate death of fashion king, Alexander McQueen, that some ladies' shoes have been moving more into the arena of artwork.  The mixture of materials, colors, patterns and in some cases, engineering, have chnged the way big fashion houses have looked at shoe design and innovation.
It seems the approach has been positively received by celebs gracing the catwalk in all types of creative shoes. From sandals to platforms to pumps, designers are reaching deep into their creative minds to invent truly unique and eye-popping footwear.  Check out these Versace platforms, which are part of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection inspired by Alice In Wonderland.  An interesting touch is the floating space between the bottom of the shoe and the sole, making a very interesting profile.
I spotted these after seeing pics of Ciara wearing the pair last night at Maxim's Hot 100 Party.  See a few pics of her in the shoe after the jump. -L

Alden x Context Tanker Boots

So allow us to tell you about Alden + Context Tanker Boots, a new line of handmade, damn-near indestructible boots, the likes of which haven't been made since World War II.

We mean that literally: the design was last used to outfit American soldiers' feet during the Second World War (and World War I before that). In other words, these should get you through your morning commute—whether dodging enemy fire or the occasional spilled latte. And while shoe nerds will geek out over the details—the skin on the toes is hand-stitched; each pair takes 78 days to make—you'll just appreciate having some handsome (and surprisingly comfortable) new footwear for your summer adventures.

Of course, that's what happens when one of America's oldest shoemakers (Alden) teams up with one of America's coolest stores (Context). For now, only 37 pairs are available, though reinforcements might be on their way.

Jeffrey x Sperry Top-Sider: A preppy classic gets kicked up a notch

Sperry Top-Sider produced two pair of neon colored limited edition boat shoes for Jeffrey New York. The punchy patent numbers feature the brand’s signature white sole and moc stitching, and the quirky barrel laces will keep you from coming undone on the high seas or the hot sidewalks. We have certainly seen a lot of different takes on the boat shoe in recent years, ever since the model gained mainstream popularity again, but neon on the boat shoe is new. As long as you keep the rest of your outfit very simple, these might actually be fun for the summer!
$120, at Jeffrey New York, 449 W. 14th St., NYC
