Ladies Fashion: Phillip Lim Resort 2010

"The rock chick of Phillip Lim's Fall collection has landed on the beach. "She's a pirate," says the designer, pointing out the patchwork denim, the antique lace, and the "sun-bleached" florals and lamés. Still, this collection was as keyed into what hip urbanites want to wear as ever. Lim's super-popular jumpsuit made a reappearance; he showed several smart suits, this season with double-breasted jackets and rolled-hem shorts; and his trenches came every which way, including in sheer polka dots, faded floral sequins, and a lizard-stamped linen. (The latter looked disarmingly like the real thing, but was practically weightless—and will retail for less than $600.) On the news front, Lim has incorporated lingerie elements into everything from sheer blouses with built-in bra tops to a fluttery chiffon evening dress suspended from a sequined bralette. I've browsed through the resort collections of designers such as Prada, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, and Miu Miu to name a few and nothing has really stood out (besides Chanel, of course).. Phillip Lim introduced an interesting theme that works in real life, not just on the runways.. Check the whole collection here
