VIDEO: VH1's Behind The Music: Jennifer Hudson [Full Episode & Bonus Clips]
VH1: In this episode of Behind the Music we trace Jennifer Hudson's beginnings with her close knit family on the south side of Chicago, continue with her early elimination from American Idol and her starring role in Dream Girls which earned her every major movie award Hollywood could bestow. Just after becoming engaged to the love of her life and releasing her debut CD, Hudson is devastated by the unspeakable tragedy of losing her mother, brother, and nephew in a horrifying triple murder. For the very first time, Jennifer opens up about the painful process of healing from such a loss and her triumphant return to the public eye on the night she wins her first Grammy. Now a mother herself, Jennifer honors those she's lost by returning to work and raising her son in the same loving environment her own mother created for her. In addition to Jennifer, BTM has interviewed her sister Julia, Randy Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Whitney Houston, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Clive Davis, and many others for this episode.
