Da Brat is one of the most talented female rappers that hip hop has seen. After a chance meeting with Jermaine Dupri, she was signed to SoSoDef and dropped her first album, Funkdafied. The album subsequently sold over 1 million copies, making Da Brat the first female rapper to have a platinum album. Brat was known as the "female Snoop Dogg," with her G-Funk flow, "don't give a fuck" attitude, and preference for herbal refreshment. Her versatility was another virtue. She has worked with some of the biggest names in music including Mariah Carey, the Notorious BIG and Missy Elliot and has achieved worldwide recognition and respect within the music industry. Unfortunately, Brat's wild ways never settled and a 2007 violent altercation landed her in jail for 3 years [she should be released late 2011]. Nonetheless, we wanted to include some career highlights while presenting to you one of the most unique and influential females in the game. Hit the jump for some goodies.
