Madonna Talks MIA's Superbowl Controversy, Upcoming Tour, MDNA & New Movie [AUDIO]

Madonna called "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" earlier today to talk about her Superbowl show, her 12th studio album MDNA, Britney Spears, her upcoming film W.E. and more.

On MIA's obscene gesture (skip to 7:20): “To tell you the truth, I didn’t even know about it. I actually didn’t know until I left… I found out about it in the elevator on my way to go to the car to get to the airport. I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it, because for me — I understand it’s kind of punk rock and everything — but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity. It seemed negative. It’s one of those things that’s such a teenager, kind of, irrelevant thing to do in one respect. But on the other, there was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place.”

On performing "Like A Prayer": “It was actually very emotional for me. I almost starting crying. I felt an incredible sense of — I know it sounds cheesy, but — warmth, love, support. Everybody turning on their flashlights, holding up their phones, to see the entire stadium lit up like candles with the video-mapping over us and the choir singing around me — it was like a religious experience.” she also said of her co-performer, “I love Cee Lo. I’ve always loved his voice. I feel like he’s someone really up and coming, interesting.”

On her new tour and single (skip to 14:20): I am having auditions all next week. Then I’m going to shoot the video for ‘Girls Gone Wild’ after that, then I start rehearsals." She shut down rumors of a Britney Spear feature, saying "No, it’s just little ol’ me."

On her new album MDNA: “...a lot of up tempo [music], but I also have three ballads which I haven’t done in a while. Something for everyone!” Preorder the album now, due out March 26th! (alt amazon link). It was also just revealed that the star just broke an iTunes preorder record by claiming the number one spot in over 50 countries. Listen to the full interview above to also hear about Madonna's new movie..

VIDEO: Madonna with Kid n Play (Pajama Party, 1991) Rare Footage [Happy Birthday Madonna!]

youtube link
Here is a rare (unseen?) interview with Madonna at a pajama party at the arena in LA. She caught up with Kid n Play, who seem pretty surprised at how forward she was (she was in heat lmao) and gave a special shout out to MTV veteran Kurt Loder. Anyway I had to share this footage seeing as it is Madonna's 52nd birthday and though I am a complete hip hop junkie, I'm also a Madonna STAN! Yeah, I said it. So sit back and enjoy this little throwback clip and see why Madonna is one of the original "baddest bitches."

NEWS/STYLE: Madonna's Daughter Lourdes Leon Starts a Blog [Talks about mom, 80s, new clothing line, music, more]

Lourdes Leon is ready to take the fashion world by storm! The fashionista-in-the-making and her mother, Madonna, are getting ready to launch their clothing line Material Girl on August 3.

Lola, 13, posted her first blog entry on the Material Girl website, where she talks fashion faves, her love of My Chemical Romance and what she’s most looking forward to when she turns 14. Here are some excerpts from her blog post:

“I am totally obsessivo about 80’s shorts… You know the kind that makes your butt look kinda big, with a grunge-looking shirt tucked in. It’s kinda nerdy but I love it. And the 80’s are another huge obsession of mine, which is totally amazingly awesome because Material Girl…HELLO! It’s like 80’s themed, which pretty much rocks, so yeah.”

“Music wise My Chemical Romance is THE BEST BAND EVER for realzzzz. They are so awesome it hurts. If you don’t know who they are just… go away OR download their songs.”

“I’m 13 and I’ll be 14 in October, so I can’t wait for that because I am FINALLY allowed to dye my hair… THANK YOU MOTHER!!”

VIDEO: Madonna Pays Tribute to MJ at O2 Arena, London

Madonna paid tribute to Michael Jackson on Saturday night in the same arena where he was to stage his comeback, dancing along with an impersonator doing Jackson’s distinctive moves.

A picture of a young Michael Jackson appeared on stage while Madonna was performing “Holiday,” then the impersonator came on, wearing a sequined jacket, white T-shirt, white glove and white socks in the Jackson manner.

The music then switched to Jackson’s song, “Wanna Be Starting Something,” and the impersonator worked through Jackson’s moves, including the famous moonwalk. The impersonator didn’t sing.

After the number, Madonna told the crowd, “Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known,” and the crowd roared its approval.

Madonna, Beyonce & Celine Dion are Forbes' Top Earning Musicians

Female artists ruled Forbes‘ Top-Earning Musicians list of the year, with Madonna, Celine Dion and BeyoncĂ© taking the top three spots. Madonna, who set records with her sold-out Sticky & Sweet tour and had worldwide success with Hard Candy, made roughly $110 million to top the list of profits earned from June 2008 to June 2009. However, Forbes doesn’t factor in the Material Girl’s expensive divorce from ex-husband Guy Ritchie, which will reportedly cost Madonna $75 million. Last year, Forbes called Madonna the “Cash Queen of Music.”

Dion came in second with $100 million, followed by BeyoncĂ©, who made $87 million thanks to touring, I Am… Sasha Fierce and promotional deals.
