About to browse over this a little later but Rich Jones over at
gun.io decided to exercise his rights associated with the Freedom Of Information Act and request all documents related to the late great ODB from the FBI. There are a shit load of redactions but the documentation is an interesting look at how ODB and the Wu Tang Clan were being investigated for every major street crime in the book as well as the untold stories behind the headlines that followed the troubled rapper..
so far, some gems include:
- "The WTC is heavily involved in the sale of drugs, illegal guns, weapons possession, murder, carjacking and other types of violent crime." [p5]
- Connections to the murder of Robert "Pooh" Johnson and Jerome "Boo Boo" Estrella. [p6]
- Connection to murder of Ishamael "Hoody" Kourma. [p13]
- A shoot-out with the NYPD. [p15]
- Arrest for felony possession of body armour. [p16]
- Connections to the Bloods Gang. [p17]
- Found in possession of large bags full of paper currency. [p40]

This was posted up on the Wu-Tang forums yesterday and it seems from this live cut that RZA cut out ODB's part on the final version of Duel of the Iron Mic. RZA has said before that he had a difficult time choosing whose verses to place on certain tracks as it was impossible for all 9 Clan members to make the cut on a single track. Nevertheless, the verse has been unearthed and resurrected (in a clear live format). I wouldn't mind if the studio version was released next 'Wu Wednesday.' ((wishful thinking))
